Project overview
The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Manipal, Karnataka, faced a major challenge in managing and tracking bus route permits. Traditionally, collecting and verifying route history for a single bus permit took nearly a year due to manual, paper-based documentation. To overcome this delay and digitize their workflow, the department partnered with Hungercat, recognized as one of the leading software companies in Udupi, to develop a modern web application system.
Challenges & constraints
- Converting decades of manual permit records into a structured, digital format.
- Designing a system flexible enough to support complex route rationalization logic.
- Ensuring data security and proper authorization for departmental users across different roles.
Projects solution
Hungercat built a comprehensive Route Permit Management System that digitally records and manages every route, permit, and associated data point. The solution automates processes such as route rationalization, permit expiry tracking, and data analytics, enabling the department to retrieve any permit’s route history within seconds. The new system centralizes all data, eliminates the need for manual paperwork, and offers real-time insights into route planning and renewals. A robust backend architecture and secure database ensure scalability and performance for future departmental expansions.
